I started a new blog for residency stories and probably won't update this one anymore. This is just a test of the mobile blogger app.

I'm BACK!?!?! maybe?!?!
So... I have an awful memory for every-day kinda stuff. I often forget things I should definitely remember about recent times. I was thinking about this and had an epiphany - maybe I should blog again as it's like a diary. It's kinda fun for me to delve back into the archives every once in a while, since it's impossible for me to remember anything without doing so (slightly kidding).
So maybe I'll start posting stuff again.
It's been like 3-4 months since I've posted something. Since then I've done a ton of clinical stuff, and have progressed alot as a student doc I think... otherwise, not much has changed.
I got a new pocket knife in the mail today, that's about the highlight of my day.
Maybe I shouldn't start posting again.... god I'm boring.
Well, we'll see.

#3 & #4

Forgot to post one yesterday... so here's 2.
Both from Colorado trip recently. First is two of the guys hanging out on a great rock out-cropping at the top of a mountain we hiked, second is my favorite mountain in the world: "Sleeping Giant." Can you see the giant sleeping?
As always, click for larger pics.

Just for the sake of its awesomeness
Here's a video of a jam that Will and I did like a year ago.
That's all for now. Back to coughing, sneezing, &c.

Upper and Lower Facial Innervation by Corticobulbar Pathways, ie, The Difference Between Bell's Palsy and Stroke

So I was trying to re-appreciate a tidbit of neurology, and I remembered that I had drawn a diagram last year... so I searched through my notes and found it. I know it's crude, but honestly, it is the clearest way I've ever seen this phenomenon represented in picture form. The Grey star represents a central lesion, the Brown star a peripheral lesion (where the tracts that innervate upper and lower face have temporarily joined together to form the Facial Nerve).
I've described this specifically, so maybe eventually this will show up a Google if someone searches for something like this, and it'll help them. I hope so.

Cool song (Rolling Stones "She's a Rainbow"), cool filming, cool vibe.

Also...
I skidded though a tire during Critical Mass on Friday while whipping a fishtail... sounded like a glass bottle exploding, and all of a sudden I was riding on the rim. Pretty spectacular. Didn't crash. But I decided no more cheap tires for me, back to the good ones; put a 700x25 (instead of 23) Conti Ultra Gatorskin on today. Maybe the extra width will help improve ride quality and skidding longevity? Maybe? Ok back to reading now.
